Father wants joint custody, or sole custody. I, the mother have a clean record. I have temp custody at this time. They are going to ask me why I should be the caregiver of the child vs the father. He also has a clean record, was recently let go of his employment. Both grandmothers babysit the child. The mother works 20 hours a week, an is active with the child. Ex. Play dates, take child to outings to have interaction with others an her.
I will add, he wants the child solely, an has fought me in court. He wants the child one week, then give me the other. ( If he doesn’t get sole custody.) Back an forth. He will have his mother raise the child more than be in the childs life, to just keep the child from me. I am not saying that in a few years that the back an forth of weekly custody would work. This is a one year old though. They take a lot of attention, an I am home more than he would be to be with the child. I do want the father in his life. that isn’t the problem. We do talk, kindly of eachother, the child doesn’t need to be upset of his routine as it is. I want to keep things as calm as I can keep them. The child is my first interest of his well being.
